I am buying a new camera for the trip; will you show me how to use it?
We will assist you in learning about your camera, but we recommend that you have a basic understanding of it before you travel. Make sure you bring your manual along with you and we will talk you through any issues.
Is there a specific type of camera I should bring?
To get the most out of the tour, the minimum camera you should bring is a reasonable digital SLR (Canon 80D or similar)
Should I bring my laptop with me?
Your laptop is your modern day ‘dark room’. We recommend bringing a laptop with you, to download your photos at the end of the day for learning new postproduction techniques. If you prefer not to bring your laptop we can still upload your images to our computer and work on them with you that way.
What other equipment would you suggest I bring?
We recommend that everybody has a camera, tripod & laptop with them.
Do you rent camera equipment?
No but we both shoot Canon and are happy to allow you to use our lenses on an all care basis.
How many people are on your tours?
Our groups are maximum of 10 people. This allows each guest to have the maximum one on one time with our photographers
What if the weather is bad?
Generally speaking, May in Tuscany is fairly settled weather wise but rain doesn’t always mean we can’t shoot. For really bad weather we have indoor locations available to us.
Do I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance is a must and we will require proof of your travel insurance cover before departure. You are required to purchase your own travel insurance to cover cancellation coverage, airline tickets, trip delay, lost luggage or
any potential medical expenses.
Is there any free time?
We have scheduled tour free days within our respective itineraries and there is also the opportunity of spending time on your own on any of the scheduled day tours.
What can I do on a Free Day?
You can choose from a variety of additional activities that we have on offer; these range from art classes, cooking classes, horse riding, cycling tours and many more. Booking prior to the tour is recommended. Alternatively, you can visit another township or spend the day in the villa or in Montalcino.
Is there access to Wi-Fi?
There is Wi-Fi at the villa. However please remember that we are in the countryside and although the Internet generally works quite well, it may not be the speed to which you would normally have.
Can I make changes to my itinerary before or during the trip?
Itineraries are provided in order to ensure all our guests have the best experience and therefore we do not amend itineraries once your tour has commenced.
How are the meals provided?
All breakfasts, and alternate lunches and dinners are included in your tour cost, however alcohol is not included except for the farewell dinner.
What if I’m vegetarian or require a special diet?
You can choose from an a-la-carte menu for all meals and the selection is varied and caters well for vegetarians.
What is the dress code?
Comfortable clothing and walking shoes for daily tours is best and smart casual for dinner.

Is the accommodation in walking distance to the town centre?
The accommodation is approximately 5km from Montalcino however we will provide transport for those wishing to go into town.
Are there laundry facilities?
Yes, there are full laundry facilities in the villa
Is CMGPHOTOTURS insured?
As part of CMG Studios a NZ owned company registered with the Companies Office and carries Public Liability insurance & Professional Indemnity insurance.
